About Me

I am 38 years old and live on the North Shore of Long Island. My husband and I have been together for three years (and have known each other for a lot longer).

We enjoy eating at great restaurants, cooking at home, watching a lot of sports (Jets, Giants, Mets, Rangers, Islanders, tennis, golf, all day football Sundays…) going into the city (usually not above 14th street), the farmers’ market, going to the gym, well, I’m sure there’s more but I can’t think right now.

We are adding to our family next March. This will be our first baby and even though I am of “advanced maternal age” I feel like this is the right time for us. Besides I don’t feel old, so screw it.

I found out really quickly that there is so much information that pregnant women get bombarded with, a lot of it potentially harmful. It seems like pregnant women get treated like they’re mentally retarded, irresponsible, sessile objects. I think that’s stupid. And I know I’m not stupid. Feel free to comment to me about any advice you’ve gotten or are getting about what to expect, what to do and what not to do while you’re pregnant.

  • reilly873: I've somehow managed to ease the pain the past few nights, but only with some serious, ridiculous pillow arranging. Which is a royal pain in the ass w
